What print-ready artwork means

Print-ready artwork is a design file prepared so a printer can produce it correctly. It usually includes the right page size, 3mm bleed, crop marks, safe margins, embedded fonts, high-resolution images, and a printer-safe PDF export. If the file you have doesn't meet that standard, I'll check it against your printer's spec and either correct what's wrong or rebuild it from scratch when the original was never set up for print. Common fixes

  • Images under 300 DPI that print blurry
  • RGB colours that shift or wash out once converted to CMYK
  • No bleed, so trimming leaves a white edge
  • Wrong page size, or fonts missing from a supplied PDF

Questions

What does print-ready artwork mean?

It means the file is prepared for production: correct size, bleed, safe margins, high-resolution assets, embedded fonts, and a PDF export your printer can use.

Can you fix artwork that a printer rejected?

Usually, yes. Send the file and the printer's rejection note. Most rejections come down to missing bleed, images below 300 DPI, RGB colour where the printer wants CMYK, or fonts that were never embedded in the PDF. All of it is correctable on a file you supply.

Can you make a Canva design print-ready?

Yes. Send the Canva file or its PDF export along with your printer's spec. Some only need re-exporting correctly; others were built edge-to-edge with no room for bleed, and those have to be rebuilt properly.

Do you arrange printing?

No. HELYI supplies the artwork file. You send it to your preferred printer or an online UK print supplier.
